Despite some uncertainty around the weather, 81 walkers from across the National Park took part, creating a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. There were many opportunities to reconnect with familiar faces and to build new friendships throughout the day.

Participants chose from three well-planned routes, making full use of Aberfoyle’s excellent path network. Walkers enjoyed stunning scenery, with seasonal bluebell displays providing a striking natural backdrop.

The day concluded at Aberfoyle Memorial Village Hall, where participants were welcomed with refreshments and a generous selection of home baking, prepared by local volunteers and participants.

Feedback from attendees highlighted the positive experience, with one participant describing the event as “a lovely walk, good company, great coffee and cake, very well organised – perfect.”   During Green Health Week, it was particularly encouraging to hear how the walk supported wellbeing, with participants noting increased confidence, and feelings of calm and connection with nature.
